University of Minnesota professor of learning technologies Aaron Doering brings his team's research into K-12 students' classrooms using the online technologies of his GoNorth! program. The team travels to the Arctic Circle on dogsled to study climate change and develop a curriculum so that students can learn alongside them on the web. At the end of each day, Doering posts videos, answers questions and shares the team's experiences. The students are also able to connect with other students around the world and share a dialogue about what they've learned. Most importantly, GoNorth! allows students to see firsthand how the decisions we all make affect the natural world. Doering hopes this form of adventure learning will continue to take place in other parts the world.
